As the iPhone 15 launch event comes closer, a new report about the iPhone 15 Pro models discards the previous claims of increased base storage. We’ve heard rumors about the Pro variants being more expensive than the iPhone 14 Pro for a long time. Last year, Apple announced the iPhone 14 Pro (128GB) with 6GB of RAM at $999 and the iPhone 14 Pro Max (128GB) at $1,099. However, that might not be the case this year.

iPhone 15 Pro Series To Retain 128GB Base Variant

Per a report by 9To5Mac, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will ship with the same 128GB base storage. This contradicts the claims about Pro iPhone models starting from 256GB storage this year, justifying the expected price hike. Further, the report claims that Apple could only increase the iPhone 15 Pro Max price.

iPhone 15 Pro Max Price To Increase By 9%

The publication cites an analysis from TrendForce, stating that the iPhone 15 Pro could cost $999 for the 128GB storage variant, which is the same as that of the iPhone 14 Pro’s 128GB variant. However, the top-end model will see a 9% price hike and start from $1,199 for the 128GB variant. Instead, both Pro phones will ship with 8GB of RAM, up from 6GB on last year’s models.

In the past, some experts claimed that the upcoming Pro iPhones would go up to 2TB of internal storage. However, the latest news says otherwise. It mentions that both models will max out at 1TB of internal storage. Apart from this, all the other details about the iPhone 15 Pro phones, including a Titanium frame and a periscope lens on the top-end variant, seem true.

Fortunately, enthusiasts and fans won’t have to wait too long before discovering what Apple offers. The company is ready to host the “Wonderlust” event, where it’s expected to reveal the iPhone 15 series on September 12, 2023.
