Intex Aqua Strong 5.1 Plus Is Neither Strong Nor Plus

Continuing with its incessant launch spree, Intex today launched Aqua Strong 5.1 Plus which is a very basic entry-grade device meant for first time buyers who will perhaps be buying it from offline retail stores.

If you go by the naming convention that Intex follows, the Intex Aqua Strong 5.1 Plus is supposed to be an upgraded (or at least bigger) variant of Intex Aqua Strong 5.1 that launched last year, only that this one further dials down the hardware being used.

The specification set includes 5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) FWVGA display, 1.3GHz Quad-core Spreadtrum SC9832A chipset, 1GB RAM and mere 8GB of storage. Even for an entry grade phone, this feels quite out of place in 2017.

Other features include a 5MP rear camera with LED Flash, 2MP selfie camera, 4G VoLTE support and 2000mAh battery.

The software running on the phone is Android 6.0 Marshmallow based. The Aqua Strong 5.1 Plus isn’t eligible to get the Google Assistant upgrade, but Intex loads other software enhancements like MiFon Security, VdioPlay Video aggregator app, QR Code reader and integrated smart tracking.
