Chipmaker Intel recently launched 13th generation Core processors and now the tech giant has announced Core i9-13900KS which is a top-end model in the line-up.

The Intel Core i9 is the fastest desktop processor in the world as it has a clock speed of 6.0GHz without overclocking. It is based on the 13900K chip that peaked at 5.8GHz turbo frequency. The newly launched CPU reaches 6GHz without overclocking using Intel’s Thermal Velocity Boost tech. It uses more electricity, 250 watts at the max turbo power instead of the regular 150 watts, and peaks at 320W in a new Extreme Power Delivery Profile.

The base frequency for the performance core has increased to 3.2GHz from 3GHz and the new CPU comes with 24 cores, including 8 performance cores and 16 efficiency cores. The CPU has 32 threads, 36MB Intel Smart Cache, and 20 PCIe lanes. The Z790 and Z690 motherboards will support this new 13900KS chip with a BIOS update. It is available for purchase globally at the price of 699 USD.
