Intel announces Core Ultra 200HX Series of Processors for gaming laptops: Panther Lake teased

Leading chip manufacturer, Intel announced the Arrow Lake series of processors in 2024 which offered faster and more efficient performance for laptops. The only drawback was that the processors weren’t made for gaming-specific laptops. Intel has worked on this aspect and now completed its Arrow Lake series of processors by adding the Core Ultra 200HX lineup which is made for gaming laptops. The Intel Core Ultra 200HX Series of processors includes six models and will start arriving in late Q1 in 2025. Let us have a look at the performance features of these models.

Intel Core Ultra 200HX Series: Features

1. Intel Core Ultra 9 285HX- The top-end model comes with up to 24 cores (8 performance and 16 efficiency cores) and 24 threads, peaking at 5.5GHz in frequency, all running at a TDP of around 55W. It features an Intel Arc GPU with 4 cores and the NPU has a Maximum capacity of 13 TOPS

2. Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX- this model comes with up to 24 cores (8 performance and 16 efficiency) and 24 threads, peaking at 5.4GHz in frequency, all running at a TDP of around 55W. It features Intel Arc GOU with 4 cores and NPU has a Maximum capacity of 13 TOPS

3. Intel Core Ultra 7 265HX- The processor comes with 20 cores (8 performance and 12 efficiency) and 20 threads, peaking at 5.3GHz in frequency. It features Intel Arc GPU with 4 cores and NPU has a Maximum capacity of 13 TOPS

4. Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX- The processor comes with 20 cores (8 performance & 12 efficiency) and 20 threads, peaking at 5.2GHz in frequency. It features Intel Arc GPU with 4 cores and the NPU has a Maximum capacity of 13 TOPS

5. Intel Core Ultra 5 245HX- The processor comes with 14 cores (6 performance & 8 efficiency) and 14 threads peaking at 5.1 GHz in frequency. It features an Intel Arc GPU with 3 cores and NPU has a Maximum capacity of 13 TOPS

6. Intel Core Ultra 5 235HX- The processor comes with 14 cores (6 performance & 8 efficiency) and 14 threads peaking at 5.1GHz in frequency. It features an Intel Arc GPU with 3 cores and NPU has a Maximum capacity of 13 TOPS

For those who don’t want a laptop focusing on gaming but on performance and is thin and light in design, the company has announced the Intel Core Ultra 200H series with power requirements from 28 to 45 watts. The series includes five processors that come with Intel’s Arc GPU, which is better than the previous generation. The total performance includes CPU, GPU, and AI reaching 99 TOPS, which is good.

Intel has even upgraded its vPro processor lineup delivering significant performance, improvements, increased efficiency, and advanced security and manageability features which makes them ideal for modernizing IT environments.

Intel has also teased its next-generation chip, codenamed Panther Lake, which will be the lead product in Intel’s 18A manufacturing process. It is slated to arrive in the second half of 2025.
