Hyundai has launched its much anticipated compact SUV, the Hyundai Bayon in India. The Bayon has been launched as another crossover option from the South Korean giant, and it will sit between the Hyundai Creta and the Hyundai Venue in the company’s lineup of cars. The Bayon has been launched at a price of ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards and will be manufactured locally in Hyundai Chennai facility.

Hyundai Bayon – Variants and Pricing
Bookings for the Hyundai Bayon have started and potential buyers can already book the car online by paying a ₹11,000 token amount to book their new car. Buyers also have the option of offline bookings by just walking into any nearest Hyundai showroom. Deliveries for the Hyundai Bayon are expected to begin in early November.

The Hyundai Bayon has been launched in seven variants, namely, the HX2, HX3, HX3+, HX5, HX6, HX8, and HX10. Out of these, only the HX5, HX6, HX8, and HX10 are available in the CVT automatic transmission. The lower-end variants are limited to only the six-speed manual.
Hyundai Bayon – Engine and Transmission
In terms of the powertrain options we’re getting, the Hyundai Bayon has been launched with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirate MPi petrol engine that produces 115 PS of power and 144 Nm of torque. This will be mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic. Hyundai also said that it will be bringing a CNG version of the Hyundai Bayon in January 2027.

The Hyundai Bayon will also come with drive modes. Eco, Normal, and Sports modes are the three drive modes, along with a Dash Boost Modes, which Hyundai says improves responsiveness during overtaking.
We are getting a McPherson strut suspension at the front, and a beam-axle suspension on the rear. Front disc brakes are standard, while the top-end variants also come with rear disc brakes.
Hyundai Bayon – Features and Comfort
Being a Hyundai, the Bayon is definitely well-equipped. This is the first car from Hyundai in India to come with a built-in generative AI voice assistant. The Bayon also comes with what the brand is calling a Connected Car Navigation Cockpit, which includes two 12.3-inch displays in a curved panoramic layout, similar to what we have seen on other recent Hyundai cars. A 12.3-inch infotainment display with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

We also get seat ventilation in the front, electronically adjustable driver’s seat, automatic climate control, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, along with a 360-degree camera and level 2 ADAS.
Apart from this, the Hyundai Bayon is also getting other safety features like six airbags, ESC, hill-start assist, a rollover sensor, and tyre-pressure monitor as standard.
