Samsung is working on the Galaxy Watch 7 series, which is reported to ship in three variants this year. However, the Watch 7 is not the only device creating a lot of buzz before its launch. At the Galaxy S24 launch event, Samsung teased the Galaxy Ring, a health and fitness tracking device that users can wear on their fingers. Although the company hasn’t confirmed a launch date for the Ring, we expect the device to appear at the Galaxy Unpacked event that is rumored to take place on July 10 (where Samsung should unveil the next generation of foldable smartphones).

Galaxy Ring With Samsung Food Integration

Galaxy Ring

According to a Korean publication, ChoSun Biz, Samsung is planning to integrate the Galaxy Ring with its Food app. For those catching up, Samsung recently acquired the app for providing recipes and personalized meal plans to users. The company wants to link the two to help users create their diet plan, which should be based on the health information captured by the Ring.

Given that Samsung is placing the Galaxy Ring not just as a fitness tracker but as a device that can provide deeper insights into users’ health and several related metrics, integrating Samsung Food into it should help as a unique selling proposition. Based on Galaxy Ring’s data, Samsung Food could recommend users with several health recipes and diet plans that suit their current state of health.

In addition to providing meal preparation tips and recipes, the Galaxy Ring will be able to track other stats, including body mass index, body composition, calories burned, heart rate, respiratory rate, and several other metrics. Further, Samsung will also equip the device to track sleep apnea symptoms. Moreover, the device should be the perfect wearable companion, especially for those using Samsung’s smartphones or foldables.
