Samsung has officially showcased the Galaxy Ring at the MWC 2024. Scheduled to hit the market later this year, the Ring carries a design language similar to the Oura ring. With the wearable, the Korean tech giant aims to create a connected, smart health ecosystem that revolves around its devices, including the Health app on smartphones, the Galaxy Watch, and the upcoming Galaxy Ring.

Expected Sensors And Features Of Galaxy Ring

At the MWC 2024, Samsung unveiled that the Galaxy Ring will be available in three color options, including black, gold, and silver. To track users’ activity and health-related metrics, the smartwatch will reportedly feature an accelerometer and a Photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor. However, Samsung has announced through its newsroom post that the device will feature My Vitality Score.

My Vitality Score is based on several metrics, including Sleep, Activity, Heart Rate, and Heart Rate Variability. Samsung has also confirmed that this particular feature will make its way to the upcoming Galaxy Watch series. Another feature confirmed for the Galaxy Ring is fertility and period tracking, which was developed with Natural Cycles. Last but not least, the smart ring could also feature a temperature sensor.

Galaxy Ring: Sizes And Expected Price

In terms of sizes, Samsung will offer the Galaxy Ring in nine sizes, all the way from five to 13. From what it looks like, the wearable has all the features and abilities it takes for a successful product. Even though there’s no official word on the pricing, the Galaxy Ring could cost somewhere around $300. There could be multiple variants, too.

When Will Samsung Launch The Galaxy Ring?

Citing information from several sources, Samsung could launch the Galaxy Ring during the Galaxy Unpacked event in late July or early August, where the company is also expected to unveil its next-generation foldables: Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. However, we’re yet to find out whether the device will be available to purchase immediately after the launch or if it will arrive later.
