How To Recharge or Pay Bills with Alexa on Amazon shopping App

Amazon is making Alexa smarter each day. The latest skill it has garnered is to pay bills across categories such as electricity, water, post-paid mobile, cooking gas, broadband on Amazon India. Now, Alexa can also do DTH and Mobile recharges with voice commands on Amazon India app.

This new features debuts on Amazon India app two months after Amazon integrated its Alexa voice assistant on its shopping app on Android.

How to make bill payments through Alexa on Amazon App?

  1. Go to Amazon App

    Android users will need to login to Amazon Shopping App.

  2. Tap on Microphone for Alexa

    Tap the microphone icon on the top bar on Amazon shopping app and ask “Alexa, pay my electricity bill” or “Alexa, recharge my DTH”. Those who have paid bills in the past will be navigated directly to the bill page with pre-fetched bill details.

  3. Confirm

    One it’s done fetching your bill details, Alexa will make the payment through Amazon Pay balance this monthly activity can now be completed in just three taps.

“Customers can also enable a voice pin on the Alexa app to secure these transactions. Once approved, Alexa will complete the transaction using Amazon Pay, and send a notification to the customer’s registered mobile phone number, confirming the transaction. For new Amazon Pay customers, Alexa will send a link to register their bill details on the Amazon shopping app before proceeding with bill payment,” the company said in a statement.
