How To Get Verified on Instagram and Facebook in India?

Meta has finally announced the Meta Verified services in India along with the UK, and Canada. At just INR 699/mo, users can get their Instagram and Facebook accounts verified on their Android and iOS devices. The web option is not available in India yet although the parent company Meta is planning on launching the same at INR 599/mo in the coming months.

If you want to get verified on Instagram or Facebook, follow the instructions mentioned below. Those who are already verified will maintain their verified status for free.

How To Get Verified on Instagram and Facebook in India?

Step #1: First, open a Facebook or Instagram app on your iOS or Android device.
Step #2: Next, go to the profile that you want to get verified for (in case you have multiple profiles).
Step #3: Proceed to Settings >> Accounts Center.
Step #4: Next, tap on the ‘Meta Verified’ option. In case the option is not visible, you might want to update the app so that it can reflect on-screen.
Step #5: Next up, you will be asked to choose the preferred payment method that you need to use to pay the aforementioned sum.
Step #6: Next, provide a government ID such as an Aadhaar Card to authenticate your identity as per the instructions mentioned on the screen.

Things You Need To Know

Once the system verifies your identity and it matches the profile, your account will be verified. You cannot change your username or date of birth post getting verified. Even if you want to change any details, you’ll have to go through the Meta Verified and Verification process again to amend the details. The Meta Verified in India is available for anyone 18 and above years old. Note that Meta might verify a user’s posting history by granting the verified mark. If you can’t find the feature on your app, it is likely in the pipeline and you should get in within the next Instagram/Facebook app update at the latest.
