Honor 6X with Dual Rear Cameras Officially Announced

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor revealed the successor of Honor 5x, the Honor 6X, which flaunts a metal unibody + 2.5D Gorilla Glass design and will retail in Gold, Silver, Grey, Blue and Rose Gold colors in China for the price starting at 999 Yuan (Approx. 10,000 INR).

Just as the latest crop of Huawei phones, the Honor 6X too houses two camera modules in its ugly rear camera hump. The dual camera functionality is however pretty restricted. Instead of using a combination of same resolution Monochrome and Color sensor to capture more light as in P9 and Honor 8, Huawei goes for a basic 2MP secondary shooter that will only partake in depth sensing.

The classic Honor 8 Super Aperture feature has made the cut for the 6X as well. You can capture images along with depth map and later adjust background blur by toggling aperture between f/0.95 to f/16.

On the front, Honor 6X brandishes a 5.5-inch Full HD display mirroring the Android 6.0 Marshmallow based EMUI 4.1 software. Huawei is using its own 16nm process based Octa-core Kirin 655 processor paired with different combinations of RAM and storage.

Other features include a fingerprint sensor, 8MP front selfie shooter, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and 3340mAh battery. The Honor 6X will be available in China starting October 25. There are good chances that Huawei will also bring this to India sooner rather than later.
