Honor 100 Pro With Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC And Dual Front Camera Launched

Honor has launched the Honor 100 series in its native market. The series consists of two models, the vanilla Honor 100 and the high-end Honor 100 Pro. Both smartphones are available for pre-orders and will go on sale starting December 1, 2023. While the Honor 100 has a 120Hz screen and features the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, the Honor 100 Pro has a larger screen and runs on a more powerful chipset.

The smartphones are available in four colors: white, purple, blue, and black. The Honor 100 series has a rectangular camera cutout on the rear panel, which houses the dual-camera setup and the LED flash. The power/volume buttons are on the right frame, whereas the USB-C port, speaker, and microphone are on the bottom spine. On the front, users get a punch-hole notch.

The Honor 100 Pro, on the other hand, has a pill-shaped cutout on the front, which houses the dual-camera setup. The rear panel has an oval camera module that houses the three sensors. Other design elements, such as the placement of buttons, USB-C ports, and speakers, remain the same.

The phone comes with a 6.7-inch OLED screen with support for 120Hz refresh rate and 2,600 nits of peak brightness. Under the hood, the smartphone runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, based on 4nm fabrication technology. The chipset has eight cores, including four efficient cores clocked at 1.8GHz, three performance cores at 2.4GHz, and one prime core at 2.63GHz. The processor is paired with either 12 or 16GB of RAM and 256 or 512GB of storage.

The device has a dual-camera setup on the rear panel with a 50MP Sony IMX906 (f/2.0, 27mm) primary sensor and a 12MP ultrawide sensor. On the front, users get a 50MP (f/2.1) selfie shooter. All the cameras can shoot 4K video at 30 frames per second and 1080p video at 60 frames per second. Apart from this, the smartphone also has a dual-speaker system for producing stereo sound.

Powering the phone is a Li-Po 5,000 mAh battery that supports up to 100W wired and 5W reverse wired charging. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.3 (with support for aptX HD technology), NFC, and a USB Type-C 2.0. The phone also has an in-display fingerprint scanner.

As mentioned earlier, the Honor 100 comes in multiple storage options. The base variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is priced at CNY 2,499, about Rs. 29,200. The model with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is available at CNY 2,799, which is about Rs. 32,700. The top model, with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, costs CNY 2,999, or Rs. 35,000.

The phone comes with a 6.78-inch screen that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 2,600 nits of peak brightness. Under the hood, the smartphone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which has a 3.2GHz prime core. The processor is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

The rear panel features three cameras, including a 50MP (f/2.0, 27mm) primary sensor, a 32MP (f/2.4) telephoto sensor for 2.5x optical zoom, and a 12MP (f/2.2, 112-degree) ultrawide sensor. The selfie shooters include a 50MP (f/2.0) primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. Although the smartphone ships with one of the most powerful chipsets on Android phones, the video resolution is limited to 4K at 30 frames per second.

Connectivity options on the Honor 100 Pro are similar to those of the other model. Regarding battery, the smartphone sports a Li-Po 5,000 mAh battery that supports up to 100W wired charging, 66W wireless charging, and 5W reverse wired charging. Further, reverse wireless charging is also available.

The Honor 100 Pro costs CNY 3,300 or Rs. 39,700 for the 12/256 GB variant, CNY 3,699 or Rs. 43,200 for the 16/256 GB variant, CNY 3,999 or Rs. 46,700 for the 16/512 GB variant, and CNY 4,399 or Rs. 51,000 for the variant with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
