Google Taimen running on Android O Pops Up On Geekbench

0

After Pixel and Pixel XL last year, rumors suggest that Google is planning to launch three smartphones in 2017, recently codenames of Google Pixel 2, Pixel 2XL and Pixel 2 XXL leaked out as Muskie, Muskie, Walleye and Taimen respectively.

Out of these three, the Google Taimen has turned up on Geek bench listing. The phone not only carries the Taimen codename it also comes running on Android O, the next major Android release that Google will unveil at its upcoming I/O developers event. Google recently released Developer Preview of Android O and will soon release its beta version.

The Geekbench listing clearly suggests that Google Taimen employs a Qualcomm octa-core chipset ticking at 1.90GHz and 4GB of RAM. Not much can be discerned from this initial Geekbench listing in terms of hardware, though. Some earlier reports suggested that the Google’s 2017 smartphones will be powered by Snapdragon 835 chipset, which is perfectly plausible.

The Taimen is said to feature a 6-inch or larger screen similar to the Nexus 6 from three years ago. There is an outside chance that we might get further hints at Google’s I/O conference which is scheduled for later this month.
