It seems Google can’t contain its excitement when it comes to the October 4 launch. It has already shared a sneak peek into Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro and now, we have got our hands on Google Pixel Watch 2’s sneak peek too. The super revealing video shows the upcoming watch in its whole glory. Adding to it, Google also declared that the Pixel Watch 2 will launch in InId via Flipkart on October 5, exactly a day after its global launch.

Google India took it to X (formerly Twitter) to announce the same. It will be the first-ever Pixel watch arriving in India given the fact that the original Pixel Watch didn’t make its entry on the Indian shores. The tech juggernaut is on its way to expanding to more countries and what better way to do it than launching the Pixel Watch 2 in the world’s largest smartwatch market aka India?

Google Pixel Watch 2 seems uncanny when it comes to the design compared to the original Pixel. Of course, the new crown changes the design element a lot plus its IP68 inscription at the back that makes the Pixel Watch 2 water and dustproof this time around. Moving along, we have heart rate monitoring and SpO2 sensors as well albeit with unknown specs at the time of writing this.

The Pixel Watch 2 is expected to churn out a Snapdragon W5 Gen1 SoC onboard with a 306mAh battery, Android 13-based WearOS 4, and a 1.2” OLED panel with 384×384 pixels resolution. The best thing that I love about Pixel Watch 2 is the no-bezels that make the smartwatch look larger than it is.

Moving on, the upcoming second-gen Pixel Watch is expected to come with an ultra-wideband (UWB) that allows functionalities such as precise device finding, car unlocking, seamless media playback transfer, and so on.

For those who want to compare the first-gen and second-gen Pixel watches, they must know that Google hasn’t made any drastic changes. The chipsets have changed, the battery appears bigger than before, and there’s eSIM functionality and of course, an IP68 rating that wasn’t available in the original Pixel Watch.

Google Pixel Watch 2 will launch officially in New York on October 4 alongside Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Pre-orders on the trio should begin asap followed by sales possibly from October 12 given the Pixel 7’s schedule. It will launch in India on October 5 exclusively via Flipkart.
