Contrary to earlier beliefs, Google might launch three new phones in an upcoming September event. This includes the Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, and Pixel 5s. The latter is news as live images of it just appeared online.

We learn the phone’s name in the ‘About Phone’ section, which also shows the underlying software to be Android 11. The other photo leaked alongside this one presents the rear view of the phone with a familiar camera island.

According to Mishaal Rahman from XDA Developers, this would be a slight upgrade over the regular Pixel 5. The key difference would be the 5G mmWave support. And for that novelty, you might have to pay an additional $100.

This leaves sub-6 GHz 5G for the standard Pixel 5, and possibly the Pixel 4a 5G.

Pixel 5 is said to have a 90Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 765G SoC, 8GB RAM, and a 4000mAh battery. Meanwhile, the 4a 5G is rumored to bear the same chip, a 6.1-6.2 inch 60Hz display, a 3800mAh battery, and an ultrawide angle camera.

Google is expected to unveil these handsets by the last week of September. A Vodafone Germany listing reveals the launch date to be September 25, but other leaks mark September 30th to be the day.

Now, whatever be the day, it doesn’t seem to be that far from now. And we look forward to getting more details in the coming days. So, stick around for the same.
