Google Keyboard is one of the most popular virtual keyboards. Most recently, its app received a new feature that allows users to report a bug or a quality issue using a shortcut. It is available in the latest beta version of Gboard for Android phones like Pixel 8 and Galaxy S23 and later. It’s not a huge deal, given that Gboard also allowed users to leave their feedback previously. However, the new shortcut (and the steps to use it) will surely help both new and old Gboard users report any issue they encounter on the app to Google.

The New Shortcut Makes It Easier To Report A Gboard Bug

Normally, users would need to go to Gboard’s settings and then to the “Help and Feedback” section to select the “Send Feedback” option. However, with the addition of the new Quality Bug Report shortcut, sending a concern to Google’s team only requires users to press the screen twice (to open the additional options menu) or hit the shortcut at the top of the keyboard (if they’ve added the button as a shortcut). All the complaints sent via the shortcut will contain the “Quality bug report” tag, making it easier for the team to take up the required issues and provide resolutions.

How To Submit A Quality Bug Report On Google Keyboard?

As the new feature is released for everyone, here are the steps to help users raise bug reports.

  • Press the Quality Bug Report shortcut above the keyboard or swipe to view the additional options and select Quality Bug Report among them.
  • Under the “Send feedback to Google” prompt, press the “Get Started” button.
  • On the following screen, tap on “Allow one-time access.”
  • Now, describe the issue by either typing or using the keyboard speech-to-text abilities.
  • Once you’re done, hit the send button (blue arrow) at the bottom right corner of the complaint box.
