Gionee’s S series isn’t competing for the “Slimmest of the Slim” title-tag any more, but attractive design is still the primary concern. The Gionee Elife S7 was by and large impressive, next in line is Gionee Elife S6, which tries to brew the same magic, for a comparatively lesser launch price.

Gionee S6 is a 6.9 mm slim full metal body handset with extremely narrow bezels (Gionee claims 77.8 % screen to glass ratio) around its 5.5 Inch 720P AMOLED panel. Gionee managed to deliver a brilliant AMOLED panel with Elife S7 and we expect S6 won’t be cutting corners in this regards either.

Another highlight is the presence of reversible USB Type C port, but it is based on USB 2.0, so no fumbling while connecting your charger is the only benefit you can draw. Gionee has managed to fit in 3150mAh power unit inside the slim metal casing.

Gionee has opted for budget-range MediaTek Silicon (MT6753 octa-core) coupled with ample 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. A hybrid second SIM slot allows you to further add another 128 GB MicroSD storage at the expense of second SIM card.

Camera hardware includes 13MP primary snapper and a 5MP selfie shooter at the front. Other notable features include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0 and Android 5.1 based Amigo UI 3.1.

The handset has been priced at 1699 Yuan (Around Rs 17500 or US$ 266.58) and will be selling in China starting November 22.  Since the Gionee Elife S7 is also selling for under 16K in India, we are not sure how enthusiastic Gionee will be in bringing this to India.
