TL; DR
  • X has introduced Custom Timelines and Snooze Topics for Premium users.
  • Custom Timelines lets users pin topic-based feeds from more than 75 categories directly to Home.
  • Snooze Topics helps reduce unwanted subjects from the For You feed.
  • The rollout has started on iOS and web, with Android “coming soon.”

X has started rolling out two new feed customization tools that give users more control over what shows up on their timeline. The update was announced by Head of Product Nikita Bier, who described Custom Timelines as one of the platform’s biggest recent product changes. The announcement was shared publicly here:

Custom Timelines

Custom Timelines lets Premium subscribers pin a dedicated topic feed directly to the Home tab. X says users can choose from more than 75 topics, so you can build separate feeds around interests like technology, sports, finance, entertainment, gaming, or smaller niche communities.

These timelines are personalized using Grok’s understanding of posts along with X’s recommendation systems. That means the feed is built around what feels relevant to you and what you’re interested in, instead of just working like a basic keyword search page.

Snooze Topics for For You

The second feature is Snooze Topics, and it works inside the For You tab. You can temporarily reduce or hide certain topics that you don’t want showing up in recommendations.

This can be useful when one topic starts taking over your feed, or when the same low-quality content keeps appearing again and again. Instead of muting accounts or changing who you follow, you can just snooze the topic itself.

Availability

Both features are rolling out first to X Premium subscribers on iOS and web. Android support has already been confirmed as “coming soon.” There’s no official word yet on whether free users will get access later.
