The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Gionee has finally brought is Marathon flagship in India which was launched in China December last year. The Gionee marathon M5 Plus is priced at Rs. 26,999. It is Gionee’s third smartphone in extra-large battery series after Marathon and Marathon M5 Lite which has made it to India.
The latest ‘M series’ smartphone boasts of a 6-inch full HD AMOLED display with 368ppi pixel density covered by a 2.5D curved glass. The phone has decent 77.5 percent screen-to-body ratio and comes with unibody metal-clad design. At the heart of the phone lies a MediaTek MT6753 octa-core chipset ticking at 1.3GHz and is accompanied by 3gigs of RAM. The phone comes with 64GB of internal storage and that can be father bumped up by 128GB via microSD card.
The biggest USP of this phone is its extra-large battery. The dual-SIM phone comes packed with a 5020mAh battery which as per the claims can retain 90 percent of initial capacity even after 2 years. It also supports fast charging and can tank up from zero to full in an hour and fifty-seven which is fair considering its large appetite.
For Shutterbugs, the Gionee Marathon M5 Plus bears a 13-megapixel autofocus primary camera along with a 5-megapixel secondary camera on the front. Weighing in 211.5 grams, the Marathon M5 Plus is made available in Polar Gold and Champagne Gold colour options. It supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS, and USB Type-C as connectivity options. It also boasts a rear mounted a fingerprint sensor.
