The Power of “This” and “That”

The core insight from DeepMind researchers Adrien Baranes and Rob Marchant is almost infuriatingly obvious. In human conversation, we are lazy. We point and say: “Fix this,” “Move that there,” or “What does this mean?”

We rely on shared visual context to do the heavy lifting. Until today, computers forced us to translate that natural intuition into elaborate text prompts. The Magic Pointer, powered by Gemini Intelligence, collapses that gap.

Privacy: The Pixel-Sized Elephant in the Room
