Gionee A1 and A1 Plus Launch Date Pegged At 27th Feb After Company Sends Out MWC Invites

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Gionee is all set to unveil two new smartphones – A1 and A1 Plus – at the MWC later this month. The company has already rolled out invites for the MWC event and has singled out 27th February as the day both the phones would be officially revealed.

The invite in question also bears the words,‘Inspiring Your Smile’, following the Gionee logo, indicating that the phones could very well be selfie-centric smartphones, a trend which is very much in vogue these days.

Though there is next to nothing known about the phones as of yet, mobile enthusiasts all over the world are trying to make sense of the situation through purported images and reports pertaining to the two.

The Gionee A1 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch full HD display, Android 7.0 Nougat-based Amigo OS as well as an IR Blaster. Other than that, the other rumored specifications of the phone include 4GB RAM, 4010mAh battery with fast charging facility and a front-mounted fingerprint sensor.

As far as the processor behind the latest offering from Gionee is concerned, it is deemed to be an octa-core 1.8Ghz one though it is highly likely that the phone will sport one of Qualcomm make rather than MediaTek.

The two devices were first mentioned of at the launch of the company’s M6 and M6 Plus smartphones in China wherein its President and CEO, Mr. William Lu stated that the company was developing new phones with Snapdragon processors.
