Exclusive: Moto G6 and G6 Play To Launch In India On June 4

Lenovo-owned Motorola has been actively posting teasers for the upcoming Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play in India without revealing the exact launch date. Earlier in the day, a report emerged stating that the Motorola will launch the both this device on May 21. Now Smartprix has learned from well-placed sources that Moto will launch the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play on June 4 and not on May 21.

To build up some hype and excitement around its product Motorola India last week posted a tweet that says, “Gear up for the #motog6 and #motog6play, designed with you in mind.” Interestingly, within the tweet, there was a link which redirected to a dedicated landing page with ‘Notify Me’ buttons for both phones. It is worth mentioning here that both these phones have been already launched in China and Brazil.

Coming to phones, the Moto G6 houses a 5.7-inch FHD+ display with 18:9 screen aspect ratio. The phone comes with a 3D glass back design. The Moto G6 rocks on a 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 450 chipset and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo. Motorola is likely to offer it in 3GB/4GB RAM variants and 32GB/64GB storage options. On optics front, the Moto G6 to feature a feature 12MP + 5MP dual-rear camera setup and an 16MP selfie camera on the front.

The Moto G6 Play, on the other hand, gets an HD+ resolution display of the same size. It runs Android Oreo and is powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. The Moto G6 Play comes with a 13-megapixel primary camera sensor with f/2.0 aperture and LED, while a similar selfie flash and an 8-megapixel sensor on the front.

The highlight of Moto G6 Play is its 4,000mAh battery with TurboCharging support whereas its elder sibling has 3000mAh battery, also with TurboCharging support.
