TL; DR
- GSMA IMEI listings reveal model numbers for all four expected Pixel 12 devices.
- Standard Pixel 12, Pro, and Pro XL show slightly lower resolutions than Pixel 11 models.
- The Pixel 12 Pro Fold’s inner display reportedly gains about 24% more pixels.
Just a hot minute after the Pixel 11’s launch, leaks about the Pixel 12 are already surfacing online. Most recently, a listing in the GSMA IMEI database surfaced model numbers and display resolutions for all four models expected to debut in 2027. The most interesting detail, in my opinion, isn’t about the hardware; it’s about the screen getting smaller next year.

The Model Numbers, And Why They Matter
Per the leak, credited to OVRPlus, the base Pixel 12 carries model number GC0QU. Meanwhile, the Pixel 12 Pro is GWU59 and the Pixel 12 Pro XL is G7U1Y. The Pixel 12 Pro Fold, on the other hand, is G4D5D.
These registrations typically show up well before launch. So, I’d request you to treat this as an early sign that the devices are in development rather than anything that is already confirmed or nearing the production stage. Google hasn’t said a word officially.
| Model | Model Number | Display Resolution |
| Pixel 12 | GC0QU | 1,080 x 2,400 |
| Pixel 12 Pro | GWU59 | 1,280 x 2,824 |
| Pixel 12 Pro XL | G7U1Y | 1,344 x 2,952 |
| Pixel 12 Pro Fold | G4D5D | 2,296 x 2,404 (inner) |

Why The Resolution Drop Is Actually A Smart Move
Here’s the twist. Every non-Fold model shows fewer vertical pixels than its Pixel 11 counterpart. For instance, the standard Pixel 12 drops from 1,080 x 2,424 to 1,080 x 2,400. The reduction in vertical pixels could represent an aspect ratio change, wherein the devices could feel less tall and slightly wider. We still don’t know how much the change in Pixel ratio affects the display size.
Since Google has essentially kept resolution flat since the Pixel 9 era, this points to a genuine aspect ratio change, not a downgrade. The Pro Fold tells a different story entirely, jumping to 2,296 x 2,404 on its inner screen, roughly 24% more pixels than the Pixel 11 Pro Fold’s 2,076 x 2,152.

I wouldn’t read a slightly shorter screen as Google cutting corners. A new aspect ratio usually means a reshaped body. The Fold’s sharp pixel jump suggests Google is finally pouring real resources into its foldable rather than treating it as an afterthought bolted onto the main lineup.
