Even after being a serious issue, EVs catching fire in India feels like just another regular day. In a similar incident, an electric two-wheeler caught fire while being in motion. Luckily, no major complications have been encountered, as the rider is safe. The incident occurred near Sector 78 and Sector 79 in Noida. The bike manufacturer has not been revealed, which is quite understood considering the brand image.

A video of the incident that made it to Twitter showed the electric two-wheeler on fire and lying on the road. According to the reports, the delivery boy works for Big Basket, which is a grocery startup. While on duty, he noticed that the two-wheeler was catching flames in between a trip. As soon as he understood the situation, he jumped off the vehicle to save himself from any sort of major injuries. The fire brigade was called to handle the scenario after that. However, the electric two-wheeler was completely destroyed before the fire could be extinguished.

And it is not for the first time

This has not happened for the first time, and recently, a fire broke out in an EV showroom based in Andhra Pradesh on Monday. Not only this, but in an incident that took place in Mumbai, a seven year old boy lost his life in an electric vehicle fire. As we all know that India is at the first stage of electrification of vehicles, and incidents like this could cause major concerns among customers who are planning to buy EVs.

The Indian government is trying its best to implement a standardised set of regulations and guidelines for manufacturers of electric vehicles. The new regulations by the government of India will focus more on the customers’ safety and minimising these dangerous incidents.
