Canon marks 20 years in India; Shares Its Growth Plans

Japanese imaging company, Canon, celebrated its 20th anniversary in India by announcing its ‘Vision 2020’ plan for the future thus committing its services to the country.

This Vision 2020 plan charts out the company’s next phase of growth in the Indian market and elucidates the target it intends to achieve after three years and the approach it will take to do the same. Having capped off 2016 with revenues of 2348.6 Crore INR with a year growth of 9%, the company is looking for a targeted growth of Rs. 3500 Crore.

The company is planning to achieve this target through by continuously attaining double-digit growth in the years to come.

Having launched various products in both B2C as well as B2C categories, the company is looking to promote photography to the core of the country. Canon intends to double the present count (214) of its CIS stores in India by the end of 2020.

For its inkjet division, the company is planning to focus on building greater shelf share amongst the top resellers along with expansion in vertical markets through SOHO and Pro products.

The company also unveiled a new logo for the year to commemorate its 20 years in the Indian market.
