More than 6 months after it was first brought out to the world, Google’s first AR phone Lenovo Phab 2 Pro has made its way into the Indian market with the Chinese smartphone maker launching it in a supposed tie-up with e-commerce giant, Flipkart.

The Phab 2 Pro is reportedly the first Tango Project smartphone and is capable of rendering Augmented Reality (AR) in real time, courtesy a couple of supporting cameras on the back and some specialized technology inside.

As far as the specifications are concerned, the Phab 2 Pro is powered by a 1.8 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor which is supported by a 4GB RAM and an Adreno 510 GPU. Encased in a metal body, the phone has a 6.4-inch QHD 2.5D curved glass display and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Apart from a 16MP primary one, the two other cameras on the back include a motion tracking sensor as well as a depth sensing camera to facilitate a real-time conversion of the surroundings to AR.

The camera on the front of the phone is a regular 8MP unit with f/2.2 aperture lens.

Other features of the phone include an in-built storage space of 64GB and a 4050mAh battery that has provisions for fast charging services. The Phab 2 Pro also boasts of Dolby Atmos speakers and Dolby 5.1 audio capture in its arsenal.

The phone seemingly comes with 25 pre-installed apps that support AR and the company has also announced a dedicated app store for the same.
