Canon has launched its entry-grade yet feature-rich interchangeable lens camera with an electronic viewfinder, EOS M50, in India. The fourth M-series camera from Canon can shoot 4K videos and is designed for photography enthusiasts upgrading from basic or smartphone cameras.

Canon EOS M50 Features

The Canon EOS M50 has a plastic body and you will be quite comfortable carrying it around. The EOS M50 has Canon’s 24.1MP sensor along with an excellent OLED electronic viewfinder that it borrows from m-series flagship M5.  It also has Canon’s latest DIGIC 8 image processor.

The 4K video capture has a 1.6x crop. There is also an option to shoot 4K time-lapse footage, or to grab stills from 4K footage.

You can shoot 120FPS slow-motion videos (HD quality) and shoot continuous images at up to 10fps. The camera has 5 axis digital image stabilization as well.

Canon’s dual-pixel AF is as impressive as ever. There are now 143 focal points that cover 88 percent of the viewfinder. You can also make use of touch and drag AF from the 3-inch LCD screen on the rear (while simultaneously viewing through EVF). The user interface has also been refined and should feel more intuitive to budding photographers.

“India is an evolving market and so are the demands and expectations of the customers. EOS M50 strengthens our commitment to the mirrorless segment. This product is a result of our ‘consumer-first’ approach,” Kazutada Kobayashi, President & CEO, Canon India, told reporters in New Delhi.
