You can Now Enjoy Netflix Originals And Other Content On Airtel and Videocon DTH

Netflix made its way to India last year and in 2017, it is ready to take the game to the next level. After concurring computers, tablets, smartphones, and Smart TVs, Netflix now is hoping to tap into good old idiot box with its tie-up with DTH players Airtel and Videocon. Both DTH players will integrate the Netflix app in the set-top boxes and customers without Smart TV’s can enjoy Netflix originals.

To enjoy Netflix streaming service on your regular TV,  customers will have to take a Netflix subscription. Furthermore, they are required to have a set-top box with stable Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection.

Upbeat with this new deal, Videocon is planning to come up with new set-top boxes which will get a dedicated Netflix button in its remote to directly launch app. In the past, several Smart TV makers including LG Sony and Samsung have done something similar and integrated a dedicated Netflix button on their remotes.

On his on-going maiden trip to India  Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said that the company’s main focus is on premium content, and soon it will further strengthen its content catalog for the country. According to him, Netflix has witnessed strong growth in India.

Netflix has also done a deal with Vodafone to offer carrier billing which will alow Vodafone users to pay Netflix subscription fee from their pre-paid account balance or with the post-paid usage bill. As of now, to use Netflix services in India, a user has to add either his credit card or debit card to signup for the service.
