Samsung is all set to launch its flagship Samsung Galaxy S24 Series on January 17. The Samsung Galaxy S24 Series will include Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones. Now almost 9 days before the official launch, the question arises whether one should buy a year-old Galaxy S23 Series smartphone or wait for the brand to launch the new Galaxy S24 Series. Last year, Samsung launched the Galaxy S23 Series with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoCs made specifically for Samsung. However, this time the brand is reportedly returning to a faster and more efficient Exynos 2400 chipset for Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+. The Galaxy S24 Ultra will run the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. So if you want faster and efficient performance, the Galaxy S24 Series might be a good fit for you.
3. Better Camera Setup
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Series is expected to come with an improved camera setup. The Galaxy S24 Ultra will reportedly feature a better 200MP main sensor, a new 50MP 3x telephoto camera, and one more 50MP 5x telephoto camera. While the main camera is almost the same, the 10MP telephoto lens might be replaced by a 50MP telephoto camera. The front camera might also receive an upgrade. 4. Flatter display panel
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Series is said to have LTPO technology for its display. All 3 models will reportedly have an LTPO AMOLED panel with a refresh rate going as low as 1Hz to save battery life. If you are on a tight budget for buying the best smartphone possible, the Galaxy S23 Series has received a major price cut in India. Days ahead of the Galaxy S24 launch, all 3 models of the Galaxy S23 Series have been made available at discounted prices.
On Amazon, the high-end Galaxy S23 Ultra variant is currently available for Rs. 97,249 which is a huge drop from its original price of Rs. 1,24,999 (flat discount of almost 30k). Additionally, there are offers on HDFC bank cards bringing the price down by 10%. On Flipkart, Galaxy S23+ is available for Rs. 84,999 which means a straight 10k price slash from Rs. 94,999. The 512GB model now costs Rs. 94,999. The base Galaxy S23 smartphone is selling for Rs. 64,999.
2. Similar Design
For those of you who consider design a major aspect of their smartphones, the Galaxy S24 Series is not expected to offer much. This is because the design will mostly be similar to what Galaxy S23 had without any major refreshments. Weight or thickness might be tweaked but those differences might not be noticeable.
3. Connectivity options same
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Series will have almost similar connectivity options- 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, USB Type-C, NFC, and more. Although speculations are rife about Samsung bringing satellite connectivity like Apple, there has been no substantial information to back these claims so far.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Series will come with many upgrades and if budget is not a constraint for you, then waiting for the brand to launch the newest series will be a wiser design.
