BGMI will be a part of Asian Games 2022, meaning you could compete too

Krafton, the publisher of Battlegrounds Mobile India has announced that the game has been inducted into the Asian Games 2022, which is slated to be held in Hangzhou, China from 10 to 25 September 2022. This should come as great news to you if you are a BGMI player or a mobile esports fan in general.

Earlier, there was news that PUBG Mobile has been added to Asian Games 2022 roster. But since the said game isn’t available in India, some may have wished for BGMI to be included too. Well, through a blogpost, Krafton assures players in India would be able to take part through ‘Battlegrounds Mobile India’.

What’s more, the company claims to be working on an Asian Games-specific variant of the game. However, the release date of this version of BGMI and other details are yet to be revealed.

Lee Min-Woo, Head of Mobile Strategy marketing at Krafton, said, “We are pleased that Balleground Mobile will be the official sport for the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, which will be a place of unity for Asians. We hope that the new version of Battleground Mobile for the Asian Games developed with Battleground IP will bring together global fans and players.”

Ever since its return, BGMI has garnered huge success in the Indian mobile gaming scene. Krafton has also bolstered the esports aspect of it in partnership with NODWIN Gaming and the game streaming platform Loco.
