The race to supremacy in the EV segment of scooters is on fire in India. Bajaj recently announced its EV Chetak in 12 more cities with a total of 20 cities where it is available now. It compares head-on with a few other EV scooters including the Ather Energy 450x battling at every point including pricing, performance, and features among others.

Pricing in India: Bajaj Chetak Vs Ather 450x

As per the pricing, Bajaj Chetak EV is on sale in India at INR 1,19,684 (Maharashtra ex-showroom) and goes all the way to INR 1,63,943 (Gujarat ex-showroom) at its most expensive points. It is available in 20 cities after Bajaj added 12 more cities. On the contrary, the Ather 450x goes on sale in Maharashtra at INR 1,28,321 ex-showroom while its most expensive price tag is in a handful of south Indian states and Madhya Pradesh at INR 1,50,000 ex-showroom.

Performance and Features: Bajaj Chetak Vs Ather 450x

Bajaj Chetak has arrived with a 4.08kW moto capable of delivering 16nm of torque, 70kmph top speed, 70km of range on its Urbane variant while the Premium variant takes the range to 90Km. Plus, it takes around 5 hours to charge from 0 to 100%. All the electrical components onboard are IP67 certified. It has a combi braking system and has remote start, pushes button start ignition methods onboard.

Comparing it with a homegrown Ather 450x, the EV has been around for more time than Chetak. It has a top speed of 80kmph. It has a large 6kW motor with 26Nm of max torque onboard and takes just 3.3 seconds to go from 0 to 40kmph. About the battery performance, it has a max range of 116km and takes 5 hours and 45 minutes to charge from 0 to 100%. Ather 450x has a combined braking system as well but with a single self-start ignition method only.

There’s a 7-inch TFT display on board as well that connects with your phone deliver call control and music control on the go. Ather 450x too has an IP67 rating that makes it safe and easy to use even in monsoon season.

Talking about color options, Bajaj Chetak is available in way too many colors compared to Ather 450x in case color is your preference.

Ather 450x has a warp mode, a balanced chassis that enhances weight distribution while Chetak has a topnotch color variant, and as said, a lot of color options are available to choose from. There’s also a comfortable seat so that adds to its USP as well. Both the EVs use tubeless tires. Ather 450x has a disc braking system while Chetak has gone for a drum braking system.
