While the 3rd Generation Ather 450X E-Scooter came with the highest power possible, seems like the company is in no mood to slow down as of now. The Bangalore-based company, Ather is now working on a new e-scooter in the Ather range that is most probably the Ather 450X 4TH Generation Electric Scooter. The scooter was seen getting NCT approval and comes with even more advanced features.

The document that has been leaked online show 450X as the base model even though 450 Plus is most likely to be the base variant. Both scooters are expected to launch together.

Ather 450X Gen 4 E-Scooter

The battery capacity is claimed to be 3.66kWh and the scooter has apparently included a better cooling system than the Gen 3 model. The casing is expected to get better because the weight of the battery has also increased from 19kgs in its predecessor to 22kgs for Gen 4 scooter.

The battery chemistry is said to be the same but the power is expected to get a boost. While Gen 3 made 6.2kW peak power in Warp mode, the next generation will give 6.4kW peak power in Warp mode. The Sport Mode will make 5.8kW, Ride Mode 3.2kW, Smart Eco Mode 2.3kW, and Eco Mode 1.9kW of peak power.

The new scooter will come with a “Setting 2” that is most likely to be Gen 4 Ather 450Plus. This one will not have a Warp mode while the power figures will be the same.

The dimensions of the e-scooter are also expected to undergo a change. Ather is working on an affordable model to compete with Ola S1 and thus the scooter might have a smaller battery and fewer features. This will most likely be a generational change.

This time the length is similar at 1837mm but the width is 739mm over 734mm in Gen 3. Overall height is now 1114mm down from 1250mm of the previous generation. With Gen 4 Ather 450x wheelbase has gone up by 1mm.

Ather might be going for 10-inch wheels instead of 12-inch or giving a sporty posture, but that will become clear only in the upcoming months. The scooter will rival Ola S1 Pro, Hero Vida V1 Pro, Bajaj Chetak, and more.

How do you say Battery Chemistry remains the same? Previous Gen is a LFP battery chemistry but in the approval document it shows Nickel Cobalt based which means it should be NCA. Can you please confirm my understanding?
