Ather 450S, 450X Variants with Enhanced Features and Upgrades Launched in India: Price, Sprcifications, Availability

Bangalore-based electric two-wheeler company Ather was making headlines since the last couple of months, the company was expected to launch news electric-scooter in the Indian market. Starting today the company has put a full stop to all the speculations by launching the Ather 450S, in addition to two iterations of the Ather 450X.

These latest scooter models arrives with an array of features including enhanced range capabilities, revamped switchgear and an innovative joystick control. Notably, Ather has also integrated advanced safety enhancements, enabling the scooter to automatically power down in response to detecting a fall. Here are more details about the newly launched scooters.

Ather 450S, 450X Price and Availability

The Ather 450S hits the Indian market with an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 1,29,999. As for the Ather 450X, it offers arrives in two options: the 450X with a 2.9 kWh battery which is priced at Rs 1,37,999, while the 450X with a 3.7 kWh battery comes in at Rs 1,44,999. Moreover, purchasers of all three scooter models have the option to acquire the Pro Pack for an additional Rs 20,000, which provides access to premium features like navigation and calls, enhancing the overall scooter experience.

Ather 450S Specifications And Features

Joining Ather’s growing lineup, the Ather 450S takes the spotlight as the latest entrant. This electric scooter boasts a robust 5.4 kW motor, capable of propelling it from 0 to 40 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, underlining its impressive acceleration prowess. With a peak torque of 22Nm, the Ather 450S packs a punch on the road. Its energy derives from a potent 2.9 kWh battery, which bestows an enviable range of approximately 115 km.

Ather 450S features a mono suspension at the rear, promoting stability and comfort. Up front, the scooter employs twin telescopic forks, further enhancing its maneuverability and responsiveness. The newly launched EV offers a front disc brake and a rear drum brake for effective stopping.

Its 7-inch DeepView display lacks touchscreen support but employs a joystick on the handlebar’s left side for navigation. Visually, the Ather 450S resembles the Ather 450X, with unchanged design elements attributed to its aerodynamic stability, reflecting the company’s confidence in the existing aesthetics.

Ather 450X introduces two distinct variants, distinguished solely by battery capacity. The initial model houses a 2.9 kWh battery, while the alternate version is equipped with a larger 3.7 kWh battery. Regardless of the battery size, both models share an identical 6.4 kW motor, generating a robust 26Nm of torque.

Things That Make Ather 450X Special

In terms of range, the standard Ather 450X covers a commendable 111 km, whereas its counterpart featuring the larger battery achieves an impressive IDC-rated range of 150 km. Acceleration performance remains consistent across both versions, as they effortlessly reach 0-40 km/h in just 3.3 seconds. The Ather 450X reaches a top speed of 90 km/h, offering exhilarating riding experiences.

Ensuring safety and agility, both variants incorporate dual disc brakes, a rear mono-shock suspension, and twin telescopic forks at the front. An aluminium swingarm contributes to enhanced stability, collectively culminating in a poised and refined riding experience.
