PC giant, Asus will unveil its next-gen Zenfone 5 series phones at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona. The firm started rolling out the press invites for the launch event on February 27 (as per IST, it will be February 28).

Although the invite doesn’t mention what products are coming, it is quite evident from the teaser that it is going to be the Asus Zenfone 5 family. The invite feature #Backto5 with the number 5 and the familiar “We Love Photo” text that Asus also used for the last year’s Zenfone 4 series.

The 2018 Zenfone 5 series is going to have camera-centric phones powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC.

Asus Zenfone 4

Given that the Taiwanese company announced its Zenfone 4 about four months back, it seems a little early for its successor. However, if you recall, the company had earlier confirmed that the Zenfone 5 will arrive earlier than it should. Besides, the full-view display trend has already rendered the series obsolete.

Asus Zenfone 5 Series Specifications (Expected)

There is very little information of the devices that the Asus will unveil under Zenfone 5 series next month. As of now, it is expected to include ZenFone 5 Lite and 5 Max as both of them have made appearances at various certification bodies in the past.

Both smartphones are speculated to feature 6-inch edge to edge display with 18:9 screen aspect ratio. Also, the entire Zenfone 5 lineup will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset and comes running on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

This is all that is known of Asus’ upcoming devices and we expect a lot more shall be revealed in the coming days as Asus closes in on the official launch.
