Asus 8Z launched in India with a Compact design & 64MP camera

After a long waiting period, Asus has finally launched its next smartphone Asus 8Z in India today. The smartphone originally launched last year in May and was expected to come to India soon after, but the covid19 pandemic and supply chain constraints made its launch impossible then. Now, the company has finally launched the device in India. Let us have a look at its price and specs.

Asus 8Z will be available in a single 8GB RAM+128GB storage variant for Rs 42,999. The first sale will go live on March 7 at 12 Noon at Flipkart.com. It will come in 2 colors- Horizon Silver and Obsidian Black.

The Asus 8Z comes with a tagline of compact but powerful. It is made lightweight (169 grams) and easy to operate with one hand.  Asus 8Z sports a 5.9-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with HDR10 support and a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a touch sampling rate of 240Hz, 1100 nits peak brightness, 20:9 aspect ratio, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for protection.

It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset with Adreno 660 GPU. It packs a 4000mAh battery with 30W HyperCharge fast charging support and runs Android 11 based ZenUI 8 skin out of the box. It has up to 16GB RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

In the camera department, Asus 8Z has a dual-camera setup on the rear with a 64MP Sony IMX686 camera, a 12MP ultrawide Sony IMX363 angle camera, and a 12MP Sony IMX 363 selfie shooter at the front. Both main and ultrawide cameras come with EIS and there is a HyperSteady Video Recording Mode too. There are certain new filters too like the Wind Filter.

Other features of the device include triple microphones with OZO Audio Zoom and Asus Noise Reduction Technology, FM Radio, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Dirac HD sound. The audio setup comes with acoustic focus and the smartphone is made to be Truly 5G supporting 11 5G bands. The sound system also comes with Circus Logic CS35L45 Amplifiers for better optimization.

The smartphone has an in-display fingerprint sensor for security, an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance too.
