Apple WWDC 2022 Updates: Expect new Macbook Air 14, iOS 16, macOS 13, watchOS 9 and tvOS

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference 2022 (WWDC 2022) is set to kick off tonight at 10:30 PM by Indian time. The event is Apple’s biggest developer-centric event of the year where Apple reveal the roadmap for future software that drives its marquee devices from iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Apple TV to Mac computers and laptops. Some hardware announcements are also expected. Read on to know more.

When, Where & How to watch WWDC 2022 Updates

Apple’s WWDC 2022 is being hosted virtually in the wake of Covid-19. It will start at 10 am PST which means in India, it will start at around 10.30 pm IST. The event will be streamed from Apple Park in California and will be available for view on the Apple.com website, Apple TV app, and Apple Developer app. You can watch WWDC 2022 on Apple’s YouTube channel as well.

Expectations from WWDC 2022

The most awaited software announcements are expected in terms of updates for iOS 16 and iPad OS 16. iOS 16 is expected to bring an always-on-display on iPhone whereas iPad OS16 will come with a redesigned multitasking interface and the ability to resize windows to the iPad.

The most fascinating announcement could be in terms of reality OS or rOS. It is Apple’s long-rumored OS for its upcoming AR/VR headset. Apple might just tease the product and showcase some of its software at WWDC 2022. Updates to watch OS 9 are also expected.

In terms of hardware, Apple is expected to launch redesigned MacBook Air at WWDC 2022. The new MacBook Ais is likely to arrive with M2 Processor offering better performance per watt efficiency.

Apple will also be revealing the WatchOS 9 which will have a new low power mode. The new watch OS is will also bring improvements in health tracking and fitness-centric features. Visually, the watchOS 9 is likely to remain similar to current generation software.
