14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros to launch on October 18: Leaks

As we previously reported Apple is hosting a virtual event on October 18 with the tagline ‘Unleashed’. Now leaks related to Apple 18 launch event have started surfacing online revealing details certain details about the upcoming launch. According to Dylandkt, Apple is set to launch 2 new MacBook Pro models with 14-inch and 16-inch displays on October 18. The main highlight will be that the MacBook Pros are expected to be powered by the company’s all-new chipset M1X.

14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models: What to expect?

Apple is expected to launch two new MacBook Pro models, with a 14-inch and 16-inch display size (120Hz refresh rate) with smaller bezels and a 1080p webcam. The base models will have a RAM of 16GB and a storage capacity of 512GB. The new MacBook will feature a mini-LED display and an HDMI port and an SD card slot. The touch bar is rumored to be removed and traditional function keys are back.

No major design overhaul is expected but the company might decide to surprise everyone in this department. The new MacBooks will also have a new charging brick and may support Apple’s MagSafe charging.

However, the most important thing to look out for will be the company’s M1X chipset that is a successor to the M1 chip that debuted last year.

Greg Joswiak, Apple’s SVP Marketing shared a video that hints about the upcoming MacBook Pro with system speed teased.
