The trend of foldable smartphones is skyrocketing these days with continuous launches from brands like Samsung, Vivo, Oppo, and more. Now it seems like Apple is also getting serious about infiltrating the foldable market and making a considerable impact. Latest leaks and rumours suggest that Apple’s foldable iPhone may make its way to the market by 2025. The smartphone will be most probably known as the Apple iPhone Fold.

There is not os lot of information available regarding the same on the internet as of now. However, rumours mills suggest that it will ship with an OLED display and a series of new features that have never been spotted in any of the iPhones to date.

A report by Appleinsider mentioned that the Apple iPhone Fold will release in the year 2025. Further, tipster Jon Prosser tipped that Apple could offer a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip-inspired design in its foldable prodigy. It will have a clamshell design that has been already seen in multiple leaks revolving around the handset. As of now, Apple’s focus is on the hinge of the device and durability tests. This will also help the Cupertino giant in avoiding what happened with the first Samsung Galaxy Z Fold phone.

What happened in the past?

In November 2022, a report said that if things go according to Apple’s plan, we could get to see the first foldable device from the brand by September 2023. Another report by Economic Daily suggested that Apple is trying to figure out which panel it should use for the device – microLED or OLED. The panel material will play a major role in finalizing the manufacturing process. Expectations are that the hinges that will be used in the Apple iPhone Fold will be produced by New Nikko and will be further transferred to Hon Hai for assembling.

Considering all that it would be interesting to see how Apple competes with other foldable devices in the market like Vivo X Fold, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and others. One thing which we are sure of is that Apple is not going to roll out the foldable device until it reaches perfection in manufacturing and testing.
