Amazon held its 2021 edition of its annual hardware event. And like previous years, the company announced a slew of devices. The list includes new editions to the Echo Show family, flying security cameras, home robots, and more. Here’s a list of all that Amazon announced at the event and what may come to India and whatnot.

Amazon each year organizes its annual fall hardware event last night. In the 2021 edition of its annual event, a long list of devices were announced including a new Echo Show, flying security cameras, home robot-powered, and more. Here are all the company’s announcements at the event.

Astro home robot (may come to India)

The most unusual product was Amazon’s last offering at a show packed with offbeat products. This company has created an Alexa-enabled robot that can move around your home. It performs three primary functions. It provides home security, allows you to check on loved ones and pets, and gives you access to Alexa on the go. Later this year, Astro will cost $999.99 before going up to $1449.99 at a later date.

Echo Show 15 (likely to launch in India soon)

Amazon has added another Echo Show model to its lineup. The company envisions users mounting its new addition on walls in kitchens and other spaces that have a similar 1080p resolution. Alexa widgets have been redesigned to appear prominently on the home screen of the Echo Show 15. Smart displays also feature a camera, and when the device recognizes your face, it will adjust the contents of the home screen to suit you. The $250 Echo Show 15 will be available later this year.

Halo View fitness band (Likely to come to India)

The Halo fitness product was the subject of two major Amazon announcements. First, the company announced the Halo View fitness band. AMOLED color display was added to Amazon’s Halo wearable, which made it cheaper. Unlike its first fitness wearable, it does not feature a tone-detecting microphone, but it can measure your heart rate, skin temperature, steps, and others. When it becomes available, Halo View will cost $80. Until then, it is not yet available to purchase.

As part of its yearly $80 subscription, Halo announced Halo Fitness and Halo Nutrition as well as new hardware. Halo Fitness is an alternative to Apple Fitness+ and similar services. While Apple Fitness+ offers meal planning and recipes, Halo Fitness doesn’t. The Halo Fitness application will be launched later this year, and Halo Nutrition will roll out at the start of 2022.

Ring and Blink video door bells (may not come to India

The home security subsidiaries of Amazon, Ring, and Blink, each have their own segment on the site. Ring Alarm Pro, which integrates Eero Mesh WiFi, and Blink’s $50 video doorbell are both highlights from that section. Additionally, Ring has begun accepting sign-ups for its Always Home Cam security drone, which it first announced this time last year.

Glow for video chats (may launch in India)

Amazon announced Glow as the second-most offbeat device at its annual event. Kids can use it for video conferencing. The device comes with a projector that can create a 19-inch touch-sensitive play area for all the games and activities included. Amazon says the price of Glow is simply an introductory one. The device will go on sale in a few weeks for $249.99.

Amazon Smart Thermostat (may not come to India)

The Amazon Smart Thermostat is an Energy Star-certified thermostat that is compatible with most 24V HVAC systems. The Alexa voice assistant is included as well. The new smart thermostat is priced at $59.99, and you can pre-order one in the U.S. right now. Customers eligible for utility provider rebates can get the device for $10 or for free.

Ring Always Home Cam (may not come to India)

Amazon announced the Ring Always Home Cam indoor flying camera last year. Ring Always Home Cam is now available on invite-only access for $249.99 in the U.S. You may recall that the Ring Always Home Cam flies around inside your home in a preplanned route to show you what’s happening. Control can be done with Ring’s app, and it can even set up routes when certain events occur. When Always Home Cam is docked, its camera is covered, and it only records when it is in motion.

Ring Alarm Pro and Ring Edge (may not come to India)

The Ring Alarm Pro home security comes with a built-in eero Wi-Fi 6 router. With its alarms and motion detectors, it offers professional monitoring and online threat protection. In addition, Amazon announced Ring Edge, a service that lets users insert a microSD card to store and process videos on the hardware itself.

With Protect Plan, you can get Ring Edge for just $3/month. Ring Alarm Pro costs $249.99. Amazon has also announced Ring Jobsite security for monitoring job sites and Ring Virtual Security Guard to let users hire a professional security company to monitor their Ring cameras.

Blink Doorbell, Floodlight Cam, & Blink Solar Panel Mount

Amazon has announced the new Blink Video Doorbell with features, including HD video, night vision, motion detection, two-way audio, and Alexa alerts. In addition, the company announced Blink Floodlight Cam, which can work with Blink Outdoor Camera and has a battery-powered LED floodlight. Amazon also announced the Blink Solar Panel Mount at its hardware event.

A Blink Video Doorbell costs $49.99, while a Blink Floodlight Cam is $130.98. For $129.98 you can get a Blink Solar Panel Mount. The U.S. is accepting pre-orders for all three products.

Alexa Improvements

With the 4th-generation Echo and EchoShow 10 speakers, on-device voice processing provides privacy-friendly improvements. Amazon will soon offer US customers the option to execute Alexa voice requests locally rather than transmitting them to the cloud.

In the future, Alexa can learn your preferences, such as your dietary needs. Users can also teach Alexa to recognize custom sounds next year. If you forget to close the refrigerator door, Alexa can send you a notification (that’s smart), for example, if it hears the refrigerator beeping.

Amazon introduced Alexa Together as a service to help aging family members. It provides hands-free access to a professional emergency helpline 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Fall detection is also supported by third-party devices. The service will be available later this year. Customers with Care Hub get a 1-year trial for $19.99 after six months of free service. New customers get a six-month free trial.

In addition, Amazon introduced Hey Disney, an Alexa-based voice assistant developed in partnership with Disney. It will be available on Echo devices soon, so you can interact with characters from Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars.

An ultrasound motion detection feature will also be added to Echo devices in the near future. If you lose signal while away from your TV, the feature will come in handy. In addition, Ringer cameras in your home can be personalized by setting up custom event alerts.

Amazon Kids+ New Content

As part of Amazon Kids+, the company also emphasized how many titles were added since last year. Additionally, Amazon Kids Plus will be getting new shows including Do, Re & Mi, the new Super Spy Ryan mobile game, ARPO Robot Babysitter, LEGO Monkie Kid, and Blippi’s Treehouse.

We have come to the end of the announcements made by Amazon at its fall hardware event. While there were plenty of products, the Astro household bot definitely stole the show. Do you have a favorite product? Let us know in the comments.
