Amitabh Bachchan’s Twitter account gets hacked by Turkish hackers, Mumbai Police initiates probe

Amitabh Bachchan’s Twitter account was compromised to Turkish hackers on Monday. The veteran actor who is also known as Big B of Bollywood film Industry has a strong Twitter presence with a whopping 37.4 million followers. The account has been restored with all the hostile tweets deleted within an hour.

What did the Hackers do?

The hackers changed the actor’s profile picture to Imran Khan, Pakistan Prime Minister and modified the bio to- Actor…well at least some are STILL saying so!! Love Pakistan along with the Pakistan flag emoji.

In one of the tweets, they slammed India which read, read: “The Indian State, who mercilessly attacks the Muslims fasting in the month of Ramadan, is attacking the Ummah Muhammad in this age! Indian Muslims are entrusted to us by Abdulhamid,” which was followed by“We are waiting for your support.”

Yet another tweet from the account posted, “This is an important call to the whole world! We do condemn the irrespective behaviors of Iceland republic towards Turkish footballers. We speak softly but carry a big stick and inform you about the big Cyber attack here. As Ayyıldız Tim Turkish Cyber Armny +++”.

The hacker(s) responsible for the notorious act is mentioned in the tweet- Ayyıldız Tim Turkish Cyber Armny.

Mumbai Police has initiated a probe and is working alongside Maharashtra Cyber Crime team in the investigation. Mumbai Police spokesperson DCP Manjunath Singe said, “We have informed our cyber unit and Maharashtra Cyber about the hacked Twitter account of Mr. Bachchan. They are investigating the matter. Further updates awaited.”
