AMD, a prominent player in the semiconductor industry, has introduced the Ryzen 7 9800xd Zen 5 Desktop Gaming processor, designed to deliver enhanced speed and efficiency for gamers. This processor utilizes AMD’s cutting-edge Zen 5 architecture and features 2nd generation AMD 3D V-Cache technology, which optimizes memory management and significantly improves the gaming experience.

The processor is equipped with 8 cores and 16 threads, boasting a clock speed of 4.7GHz and a total cache memory of 104MB. In boost mode, it can reach a maximum clock speed of 5.2GHz. The L3 cache consists of 32MB on the CCD, along with an additional 64MB of 3D Cache, resulting in a total of 96MB of L3 cache. Its thermal design power can reach up to 120W.
This CPU architecture delivers up to an 8% improvement in gaming performance compared to AMD’s previous generation and offers up to 20% faster performance than similar processors available in the market. It is the first fully unlocked X3D processor, designed to support extreme overclocking capabilities, making it an attractive option for gamers and performance enthusiasts.
Users can anticipate an 8% increase in frames per second (FPS) compared to the previous model, particularly in titles such as Star Wars Outlaws. The processor also contributes to a more seamless gaming experience by improving minimum frame rates in The Last of Us: Part 1, achieving a 31% enhancement in 1% low frame rates relative to rival models. This CPU is designed to provide a smoother and less interrupted gaming experience.

In testing across 40 different games, the CPU shows an approximate 8% performance advantage over the 7800X3D. The games evaluated include Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy, Counter-Strike 2, and COD: Black Ops 6, among others.
This time, AMD has collaborated with game developers Saber Interactive and Activision to optimize the performance of X3D processors, ensuring enhanced experiences in games such as Warhammer 40,000 and COD.
