AMD, the popular American graphics card manufacturer, has just announced the release of its latest generation of professional graphics cards. The new GPUs are part of the new family of Radeon PRO W7000 series and boast the company’s latest RDNA 3 architecture. The new cards are designed for professionals and promise to offer higher performance and better value than their predecessors.

One of the main features of the new workstation GPUs is the company’s proprietary chiplet design, which offers improved performance and power efficiency. The cards also feature support for AMD Radiance Display Engine. The two new cards in the series are the Radeon PRO W7900 and Radeon PRO W7800. The former is the flagship model and offers top-end performance for extreme tasks, while the latter is still capable of handling intensive tasks.

The Radeon PRO W7900 features 48GB of GDDR6 VRAM and offers 61 FLOPS (FP32) of performance. It also boasts 1.5x times higher geomean performance on SPECviewperf 2020. On the other hand, the Radeon PRO W7800 features 32GB of GDDR6 VRAM and offers 45 TFLOPS (FP32) of performance. Both cards are based on AMD’s RDNA 3 architecture, which promises 50% higher ray tracing performance and better optimization for rendering, video editing, and more. The new chiplet design is based on the 5nm Graphics Compute Die along with six 6nm Memory Cache Die (MCD).

Other notable features of the new cards include support for DisplayPort 2.1, AV1 Encone/Decode, optimized driver performance, dedicated AI acceleration, and second-gen ray tracing technology. The AMD Radeon PRO W7000 series of workstation GPUs starts from $2,499 (Rs. 2,04,001 approx.) for the W7800 model, while the W7900 GPU costs $3,999 (Rs. 3,26,451 approx). The cards will be available for sale in the second quarter of this year.

Overall, the new AMD Radeon PRO W7000 series of workstation GPUs promises to offer improved performance and value to professionals, thanks to the company’s latest RDNA 3 architecture and chiplet design. With support for the latest technologies and optimizations for rendering, video editing, and more, these cards could be a hit among professionals in various industries.
