E-commerce giant, Amazon is planning to bring a new service, Amazon Prime music, to the Indian market. The app-based music service from Amazon will allow its Prime member to stream, download, and listen to their favorite music on their phones for free.

This is apparent from Amazon’s back-to-back deals with country’s top music companies. After inking a deal with domestic music companies like Saregama and Zee Music earlier this month, it recently joined hands with Sony Music. With the new partnership, the Amazon Prime Music will have access to English language songs as well.

And in India, it works with artists like AR Rahman, Jagjit Singh, Gulzar, Lucky Ali, Colonial Cousins, Darshan Raval, and Badshah among others.

According to ET, the deal also includes soundtracks from Hindi movie titles like Kuch Kuch Hota HaiKabhi Alvida Naa KehnaKabhie Khushi Kabhie GhamKal Ho Naa HoAe Dil Hai MushkilJab Harry Met SejalDilwaleDear Zindagi, and Tamil soundtracks.

Amazon Prime Music App

The Amazon Prime Music app is already functional in the United States. There, the ad-free music streaming app allows Amazon Prime subscribers to enjoy music at no additional cost. Users can even save the music offline using the Amazon cloud feature and use Alexa voice assistant to search music.

Amazon Prime Music Alternatives

The Amazon Prime Music App is currently being tested by Echo customers on a preview basis in India. However, Amazon will take its time before making it available for everyone.

Until then, you can use the following music streaming apps that will serve as worthy alternatives to Amazon Prime Music:

  • Saavn
  • Gaana
  • Play music
  • Wynk
  • Jio Music
  • Apple music
