Amazon is now accepting a monthly fee for its Prime membership for buyers looking for alternatives to one-time yearly payment. The e-commerce site silently rolled out the Rs. 129 subscription, which is currently visible only to Amazon app users.

Earlier Amazon users were limited to Rs. 999 Prime membership plan that would continue for a year. The new monthly subscription, on the other hand, will benefit those who want to use Amazon Prime services for a short period. The enrollment process is similar to the yearly one.

How To Get Amazon Prime Membership 1-Month Plan

Users can buy the Rs. 129 monthly Amazon Prime membership using any credit card or HDFC and ICICI bank debit card on Amazon App (not on the website). Further, the services will be auto-renewed every month unless the customer decides to opt out. Amazon says that it will notify the user three days before the auto-renewal date.

At Rs 129/ month, the plan totals to Rs. 1548 per year. So, the long-term yearly subscription is still cheaper, but there are still a number of use cases where people would want to opt for the short-term Amazon prime plans.

The Prime membership is nothing but a prime access to Amazon eco-system. The e-commerce site has a range of services, which include free one day delivery of products, early access to lightning deals and discounts, Amazon Prime Music and Amazon Prime Video.

With Amazon Prime Music, you get unlimited ads-free music to listen to, whereas the Prime Video offers you tons of shows, movies to watch and the video on demand service.

Users can enjoy all these services with one-time payment at no additional cost. On its website, Amazon said, “As a Prime member, you get early access to top Lightning Deals every day, 30 minutes before other customers. Choose the Prime Early Access filter when you search deals and be the first to view the best deals every day.”
