Mercedes-Benz has pulled the wraps off the most comprehensively updated Maybach S-Class (facelift) in the nameplate’s 105-year history. The 2026 edition arrives with sweeping design changes, a cutting-edge tech overhaul, and two very capable engine options. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that the 2026 S-Class raises the bar for ultra-luxury motoring. So, without any further ado, let’s dive right into it.

2026 Maybach S-Class: Pricing

Although the carmaker hasn’t launched the 2026 Maybach S-Class in India yet, it is expected to debut there in early 2027. The popular S-Class S 580 might also be locally assembled at the company’s Chakan plant in Maharashtra.

The current S 580 and S 680 variants are priced from approximately Rs. 2.75 crore and Rs. 3.5 crore (ex-showroom), respectively. However, the updated model could carry a considerable premium over these figures when it arrives in the country. The S 580 could start from approximately Rs. 3 crore (ex-showroom), while the higher variant, when it arrives in the country, could also go up to Rs. 3.75 crore (ex-showroom).

The 2026 Maybach S-Class gets a 20% larger grille and an illuminated outline that enhances its visual appeal. The ‘MAYBACH’ lettering, the standing Mercedes start, and the Maybach emblem on the C-pillar are all illuminated. On the front, buyers also get Signature rose gold accents that grace the twin-star headlamps. The air inlet grilles carry the k,ayback emblem in a chrome finish. 

The side sills integrate a light projector that casts the Mayback name onto the ground when the doors are opened. Wheel choices include a 20-inch polished forged wheel and an exclusive 21-inch MANUFAKTUR wheel with gold accents. Both wheels feature a weighted floating center star that stays upright even when the car is in motion. 

A new Night Series Exterior package is also being offered in gray, black, and white, along with a first-ever Nautical Blue option and an Obsidian Black / Mojave Silver two-tone, all paired with dark Chrome accents.

2026 Maybach S-Class: Interiors

The cabin has been extensively redesigned with updated features spanning across the steering wheel, center console, and ambient lighting. The lighting system features 10 color themes, 199 LEDs, and 64 individually selectable colors, including the Maybach-exclusive Rose Gold and Amethyst Glow shades. 

Among the key tech highlights are the fourth-generation MBUX infotainment system, which includes a 14.4-inch central touchscreen, a 12.3-inch passenger-side screen, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The system also features the MBUX Virtual Assistant, with ChatGPT 4o, Microsoft Bing, and Google Gemini integration.

2026 Maybach S-Class: Powertrain Options

The 2026 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is offered in two variants — the S 580 with a 4.0-litre V8 biturbo producing 530 hp and 750 Nm, and the range-topping S 680 with a 6.0-litre V12 biturbo churning out 621 hp and 900 Nm. Both engines are paired with a nine-speed automatic gearbox and 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.
