TL; DR
  • Isuzu’s 2026 D-Max V-Cross arrives with refreshed styling, more tech, and a bigger 10.3-inch screen.
  • The 4×2 is gone, making 4WD standard across the range for buyers.
  • Same 1.9L diesel engine, but added safety and features make it feel more up to date.

The lifestyle pickup crowd in India isn’t quite as massive, but it sure is loyal to the segment (and the advantages it offers), even though I haven’t seen many using them for their intended purpose. Anyway, Isuzu has given the crowd a new reason totalk about — the updated 2026 D-Max V-Cross.

This isn’t a ground-up overhaul. Instead, it’s more of a careful refresh. And yes, the 4×2 is gone (for good or not, that’s for you to decide). It is now a strictly 4×4-only affair.

Isuzu 2026 D-Max V-Cross: Exterior & Interior

Exterior

Isuzu 2026 D-Max V-Cross

The front fascia gets a revised blacked-out grille, a chunkier lower lip, and a reworked bumper. The Bi-LED projector headlamps continue, but interestingly, the faux skid plate has been deleted. The overall look is a bit cleaner and less “trying too hard.”

From the side, the thick black wheel arch cladding and body cladding have been removed. It gives the truck a smoother profile, though some off-road purists may miss the rugged visual drama. The new 18-inch dual-tone machined alloys add a welcome touch of flair.

At the rear, you still get LED tail lamps, and that massive “ISUZU” lettering across the tailgate; subtlety is clearly not the brand’s design philosophy. There’s also a chunky chrome bumper and, importantly, a new 360-degree camera integrated into the tailgate.

  • Colors: Silky Qwhite Pearl, Black Mica, Red Spinel Mica, Nautilus Blue, Galena Gray, Silver Metallic, Splash White

The biggest talking point inside is the new 10.3-inch floating touchscreen, replacing the older 9-inch unit. It now supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which, in 2026, is honestly non-negotiable.

Other features include a 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, automatic climate control, improved rear seating with armrests, a 360-degree camera system, a tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and an 8-speaker sound system with roof-mounted speakers on higher trims.

Isuzu 2026 D-Max V-Cross: Powertrain Options

Under the hood, things remain unchanged: 1.9-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine continues to produce 161 BHP and 360 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.

Shift-on-the-fly 4WD is now standard across all variants. Additionally, Isuzu has made the auto-locking differential standard-fit.

Higher trims now offer six airbags. Standard safety features on the pickup truck include Electronic Stability Control (ESC), traction control, hill descent control, hill start assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and occupant detection sensors.

In India, the lifestyle pickup segment is tiny. Almost boutique. Which means the V-Cross doesn’t have a long list of direct rivals. Its primary competitor remains the Toyota Hilux, a more powerful and globally recognized pickup, but also significantly more expensive.

The 2026 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross isn’t trying to reinvent itself. It doesn’t need to. What Isuzu has done here is refine the formula: more tech, cleaner styling, standard 4WD, and a slightly sharper value proposition.
