After revealing the 2025 EV6 at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, the Korean automaker Kia has announced the 2025 models for its ICE vehicles. The latest model year variants of the Sonet, Seltos, and Carens lineup come with some notable changes. What’s common among all three cars is the removal of the diesel-iMT powertrain (one of the least popular choices among consumers).
2025 Kia Sonet Gets A New HTK+(O) Variant

First and foremost, Kia has discontinued the HTX+ and Gravity Edition variants of the Sonet. However, the company has added a new HTK+(O) variant, which sits between the HTK(O) and the HTX trims. The HTK+(O) variant is available with a 1.2-liter petrol engine with a five-speed manual transmission, a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine with an iMT gearbox, and a 1.4-liter diesel engine with a six-speed manual transmission.
On top of the HTK(O), the HTK+(O) gets the signature Tiger Nose Grille with matte chrome, R16 crystal cut alloy wheels, and an electric sunroof. Additional features of the Sonet HTK+(O) include crown jewel LED headlamps, LED DRLs, LED fog lamps, leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-camera dash cam, push button start/stop, and remote engine start through the smart key. Interestingly, the trim also offers electronically-foldable ORVMs, along with a rear defogger/wiper.

2025 Kia Seltos Gets Three New Variants

Like the Sonet, the 2025 Kia Seltos doesn’t come in the HTX+ and the Gravity Edition trims. Further, the GT-Line now only offers a GTX+ variant (fully loaded with all the features).
However, the company has launched three new Seltos trims: HTK(O), HTK+(O), and HTX(O). While the HTK(O) becomes the new third-base variant, the HTK+(O) sits between the HTK+ and the HTX variants. Last but not least, the HTX(O) is the third variant from the top, just below the new GTX+ trim.
2025 Kia Carens Isn’t Available In Luxury Variant Anymore

Both the six- and seven-seater configurations of Carens Luxury aren’t available anymore, and neither is the Gravity Edition. Those looking to purchase the Carens with the 1.5-liter diesel engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission can only purchase the Prestige Plus (O) trim. The X-Line trim is only available with a turbo-petrol engine mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
