2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift With New Engine, Design, and Tech Launch in India: Price, Powertrain, and Safety Features

One of the most awaited cars in the Indian market has finally arrived and as expected it has left everyone flabbergasted. We are talking about the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchback, the car has received a facelift after six years and it’s worth noting that the company has made some significant changes to lure more customers. The newly launched Maruti Suzuki Swift comes with a completely revamped design maintaining the traditional design language. The company has confirmed that the car is up for grabs soon and also revealed the prices for Indian consumers.

2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift Price in India

The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift is launched in India with a starting price tag of Rs 6.49 lakh and it goes up to Rs 9.65 lakh (ex-showroom). The hatchback now comes in a new Z-Series petrol engine variant which is promised to offer a fuel economy of 25.75kmpl. Together the company is offering 5 variants of the newly launched Swift in 11 trims. At the launch, the company revealed that it had invested Rs 1,450 crore in the development of this new car.

Impressive Exterior Design

The new Swift has grown slightly longer at 3860 mm and a tad shorter at 1520 mm, while the width and wheelbase remain the same at 1735 mm and 2450 mm, respectively. The design has been updated for a sportier vibe, with lots of black accents, including a shiny black front grille. Plus, there are snazzy new 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels available on the top-spec model. The new headlights have a sleek, sweptback look and come with LED projector lights, LED daytime running lamps, LED fog lamps, and LED taillights.

Colour Options

  • New body colors: Luster Blue and Novel Orange.
  • Additional color options: Sizzling Red, Pearl Arctic White, Magma Grey, and Splendid Silver.
  • Dual-tone choices: Lustre Blue with Midnight Black Roof, Sizzling Red with Midnight Black Roof, and Pearl Arctic White with Midnight Black Roof.
  • Customization packages: Racing Roadstar and Thrill Chaser.

Upgraded Interior and Infotainment System

Step inside the new Swift, and you’ll notice it’s been given a fresh look inside too. The cabin has this cool wraparound style, kinda like the outside of the car. Everything’s decked out in sleek black, with shiny black bits and silver touches to add some flair. They’ve also tweaked the dashboard to make it easier for the driver to use, with fancy dials for the gauges.

Now, let’s talk tech, the 2024 Swift Facelift comes with a big 9-inch screen for your infotainment system, which is borrowed from the Baleno. It’s got all the good features like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a fancy sound system and this Suzuki Connect thing for keeping an eye on your ride. At the back, you’ve got these super handy fast-charging USB ports, along with AC vents to keep everyone comfy. Plus, cruise control for those long drives, seats that fold down in different ways, and keyless entry for convenience.

Safety Features

In the new Swift, safety comes first, and they’ve really upped their game. You’ve got all the essentials covered, like 6 airbags to keep everyone protected, along with Electronic Stability Program (ESP) for added control on the road. Plus, there’s Hill Hold Assist to make those uphill starts a breeze. They haven’t forgotten about braking either, with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) to help you stop safely, along with Brake Assist for those unexpected moments.

Powertrain

When it comes to the power the its interesting to know that the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift comes with a new 1.2-litre Z-Series petrol engine, which the company says has been designed with efficiency and sustainability in mind. The 1197 cc, three-cylinder motor is tuned to make 80.4 bhp @ 5700 rpm and develops 111.7 Nm of peak torque. 

The engine is offered with both a 5-speed manual gearbox and 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT) or as Maruti likes to call it, auto gear shift (AGS). The company says that the manual version is 10 per cent more fuel efficient now at 24.80 kmpl, while the AGS is 14 per cent more fuel efficient at 25.75 kmpl. The motor also offers 12 per cent lower CO2 emissions.
