The most anticipated iPhone SE 4 is touted to launch sometime in 2024 and with an iPhone 14-esque design. If that’s what you think the similarities end, brace for impact as the latest reports suggest the iPhone SE 4 picks up the iPhone 14’s battery at 3,279mAh which is almost 1/3rd larger than the predecessor.

We got a hit from the folks at MacRumors according to whom, the prototypes for iPhone SE 4 (2024) with device identifier D59 talk about lithium-ion batteries carrying model code A2863. If you are not familiar with it, this is the same model code as that of the iPhone 14’s battery which has a capacity of 3,279mAh.

It doesn’t take much time to do the math wherein the next-gen iPhone SE 4 is slated to receive a hefty battery pack of 3,279mAh which is 1,261 mAh larger than iPhone SE 3’s. Even with all the optimizations, smaller screen size, and efficient A15 chipset under the hood, the iPhone SE 3 managed to have a battery endurance rating of 62 hours thanks to its 2,018 mAh battery.

With a massive upgrade to 3,279mAh, we can expect the iPhone SE 4 to outperform its predecessors and even the iPhone 13 mini (the last mini) with an endurance rating of around 90 hours. Of course, this doesn’t mean you will get to use your iPhone SE 4 for 90 hours straight, we should get around this number as the phone will be using a smaller OLED display and will be comparatively less powerful than iPhone 14.

There are a lot of updates coming from various sources discussing the iPhone SE 4 at large. For instance, a rumor suggests the iPhone SE 4 will be using an OLED panel made by BOE, Apple’s supplier after Samsung Display and LG Display. It will make its switch from LCD (on iPhone SE 3) to OLED. There are also rumors doing the rounds that the iPhone SE 4 will pick up iPhone 15 Pro’s Action Button as well as USB-C port for data transfer and charging.

However, it is simply too early to comment as we could be months away from iPhone SE 4 launch sometime in 2024. Keep your eyes on SmartPrix for future updates on iPhone SE 4 and everything Apple.
