The 13th Gen Intel Core mobile CPU portfolio, which consists of over 32 new chips, was formally unveiled by Intel at CES 2023. The H, P, U, and brand-new N series were all jointly revealed by the firm. However, one of the major attractions of the unveiling was the introduction of the Intel Core i9-13980HX, a 24-core laptop processor that is said to be the fastest in the world. 13th Gen Intel H Series will deliver powerful performance
Regarding laptops, the Intel H series has long been renowned for offering the highest performance ratio. The 13th Gen H series, which features new chips with increased performance, was recently introduced by Intel, taking it a step further. Industry-leading technologies like DDR5 memory and PCIe Gen 5 storage can cooperate with the H CPUs.
However, the most recent Intel Core i9-13980HX is the most powerful mobile CPU. The 980HX is a 24-core (8 Performance-cores, 16 Efficient-cores) CPU with clock rates up to 5.6GHz, making it the fastest mobile processor available to date. This chip outperforms the previous generation in single-thread performance by up to 11% and multitasking performance by up to 49%.
The updated H series processors offer much-needed technologies, including Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+), Bluetooth 5.2, compatibility with Thunderbolt 4, and an enhanced integrated graphics environment. User can overclock these new HX and HK CPUs to get more out of them.
13th Gen P and U Series designed for Lightweight Laptops
With the introduction of the 13th Gen P and U-series, prioritizing performance and portability, Intel has given the thin and light machine category the same amount of attention. A range of chipsets with up to 14 cores are available in the portfolio (6 Performance-cores, 8 Efficient-cores). A better Intel Thread Director is also included on the processors to maximize performance.
Intel’s experience with lightweight devices will undoubtedly improve with the new lineup and the features mentioned above. According to Intel, we may anticipate more than 300 distinctive designs from companies like Acer, Dell, ASUS, HP, and others.
The P and U-series chips also include updated Intel Iris Xe Graphics for graphic tasks, which include XeSS Super Sampling and Intel Arc Control. With improved DDR5 support added to the already-existing DDR4 capability, memory and storage are expanded. In addition to Intel Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+), Intel Connectivity Performance Suite, and up to 4 thunderbolt ports, the new lightweight series shares many features with the Intel H series.
The Intel Movidius vision processing unit is now available on several Intel CPUs (VPU). The goal of the VPU is to free up resources for the chips to undertake other workloads by offloading some CPU and GPU-intensive tasks to the latter. Co-engineering on Microsoft’s new Windows Studio effects has made this possible.
Intel’s N-Series is designed specifically for entry-level computers
There is a void to be filled after Intel said goodbye to the Pentium and Celeron chips. Thankfully, Intel has introduced its new N series processor family, which includes a new Intel Core i3 processor designed specifically for entry-level and educational computing.
The N series has brand-new, highly effective cores created using the Intel 7 process technology. Compared to the previous generation, the new series also offers up to 28% greater application performance and 64% better graphics performance. The series includes LPDDR5, DDR5, and DDR4 memory, among other flexible memory and storage options.
