Wonderful Super Silent, Great looking Washing Machine!
Writing this review after about a month of usage. Having owned 2 Front loading washing machines [Siemens (7 years)& IFB (10 years)] in 17 years prior to this machine, I can say that this machine is so silent that even a baby can sleep next to it without any disturbance. Got that machine for a good price / offer and it was delivered in 2 days after date of ordering; The installation was done in about 3 days after receipt of machine. The indicated 8 Kg is applicable only for certain washing cycles and not for all washing cycles/modes. The 'daily wash' mode is recommended to be used upto 4 Kgs only Do understand that you are most likely to use only 4 or 5 different wash modes/cycles mostly during the lifecycle of the product. The rest are going to used very rarely. Also note that most likely you may not use / would like to use economy mode that may run to 3 hours as any disruption in the middle like power cut / water supply cut will lengthen the washing cycle. Pros: (I have indicated the Pro's with respect to the other front loading machines I used earlier) 1. You have 15/30 minutes quick washing cycle that can be used for most of your clothes although the allowable load for the same is far less (1 or 2 Kgs) and not 8Kgs. 2. Have upto 1200 rpm, rinsing cycle speed. 3. Experienced that the machine senses and determines the time automatically depending on the load even though your washing cycle is indicated as 2 hours and 50 minutes during start of the washing cycle in full load 4. Allows you to add / remove additional cloth / washing powder upto a certain time 5. Machine looks and feel better / superior when compared to other makes 6. The buttons are felt 'firm' when compared to other models, including some from Bosch Cons: 1. Just 2 years of warranty (when compared to machines from IFB, which is 4 years. Note, all the problems likely to start after 2 years only!) 2. Very short cable length that extends just 3 feet over the top of the machine. (I had to relocate the electrical point which was used with my previous IFB washing machine) 3. Installer recommends not to have a 'stand' for the machine (Just like Siemens), but the draw back being cleaning the floor below the bottom of the machine. Also, more water is likely to splash on to the bottom of the machine if you clean the floor surface with water. 4. As mentioned by many other reviewers, the display is not very clear / clean. 5. Understand spares are not widely available outside when compared to IFB and you may be forced to depend only on authorized service after the warranty period, which indirectly results in higher service charges. 6. Not a 'Direct drive' machine, meaning it is a regular 'drive-pulley' type machine Recommendations: 1. Install a Stabilizer with time delay function, to protect the machine circuit board which is the costliest and most likely to fail (from my experience) irrespective of whether the sellers recommend for the same or not. (I have changed them for about 7 times, both in and out of warranty and eventhough I live in a metro with 'good' power supply). The person who gave demo also mentioned insects like cockroach living around circuit board area also has resulted them to failure 2. Use washing powder slightly lesser than what is prescribed by the powder manufacturers and you can increase it if you find the washing quality is not to your perfection. (Using excess of Powder will result in galvanic corrosion of SPIDER arm (Google for it) that holds your machine drum and likely to fail in about 7-10 years.) 3. Try to get a tap adaptor suitable for the provided inlet hose outside as the installer would rip you Rs. 300 for the same that will not cost more than Rs. 50 4. Clean the machine with scale remover every 3-4 months based on your usage or with vinegar to reduce scales / foul smell from the machine 5. You may avoid using the timer as much as possible as the machine will be unnecessarily exposed to sudden power fluctuation during the period, if any. For persons asking why I selected Bosch when compared to models from IFB which is giving 4 years of warranty (more peace of mind) at no additional cost, I am sure the most of the problems with Front loading machines start with 'circuit board' (which result in showing some error during washing cycle) and hope I can negate this by installing a good stabilizer (Not 'cut-off' switch type)
